Television

This clip is from a show that Joe Rogan does on cable…at least I’d assume it’s on cable because I’ve never seen it. I’m not sure what else to say about this other than it’s funny. Check it out.

So here are the new details on the return of Futurama.

Matt Groening: Talk about a day job and night job, my night job after The Simpsons is Futurama, which is coming back on Comedy Central in 2008, 16 new episodes, and we’re going to be running the old episodes, as well.

Rather than one movie it apears that we are now getting a full season on Comedy Central.

Matt Groening: Well, I was frustrated when it got cancelled, but Fox, 20th Television is the one who came back and said, “Would you like to do a DVD movie?” and we said, “Let’s do two” and they said, “Well, why not three?” and we said, “Well, why not four?” and they said, “Okay, four” and then that’s it.

Crave Online: Are they really full movies or just three episodes together?

Matt Groening: We’re writing them as movies and then we’re going to chop them up, reconfigure them, write new material and try to make them work as separate episodes.

Crave Online: Can DVD versions be more extreme than the ones for air?

Matt Groening: Those are the marching orders we gave ourselves, yes, to really try to push it and do things we might not be able to do on TV. And then Comedy Central picked up the show and we went, “Okay, probably there’s nothing we can think of that Comedy Central won’t run” because I’m astonished at what I see on Comedy Central every day.

I can’t wait. Though I am a little surprised that the Cartoon Network didn’t land this deal.

Interview: Rhymes with raining

Though this isn’t as cool as the first trailer for Seinfelds Bee Movie, it’s still pretty fun.

I never really appreciated Seinfield’s sense of humor until I started seeing him do projects other than Seinfeld. When you’re doing a television show, it isn’t always easy to tell when the actors are being shielded from failure by the other people in the production. When something clicks, and strikes a coord in people, it often succeeds despite itself…God knows why…but it really isn’t until you see the breadth of someones work that you can really stand back and say, “Man, that was really really cool!”

Here’s to you Jerry! Keep it coming!

Take a look.

I’m not sure how or why this was made, but it is one of the wierdest shows I’ve ever seen. See Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson before they were stars. Not to mention Ron Silver as himself…it doesn’t get any wierder than this.

Owen Wilson as a talking motor cycle…I just wonder how they could film this with a straight face.

If you like The Office on NBC get ready for the next British import The IT Crowd.

The IT Crowd, from FremantleMedia North America, is a comedy based on the BBC Channel 4 series about the geeky and unappreciated IT workers at a company

NBC Sets Up Three New Comedies, Two From Peter and Bobby Farrelly

Can you spot the child star?

Somebody tell me where I can buy this as a poster…I’m serious!  Lost meets South Park; I love it!

Lost Park

I have never seen the G4 channel since my cable is about as basic as it comes, but I stumbled on this clip from Attack of the Show and now I’m kind of curious.  Apparently they are owned by Comcast, which seems like a good move for a company that should be staking more of it’s resources on content as opposed to hardware.  I can’t really say that content is the wave of the future, since looking around says it’s already here, but it’s interesting to see how different companies approach the subject.

Anyway, getting back to plugging the Star Wars part of this blog, check this out…it’s pretty fun.

In-Sink-Erator doesn’t quite understand that having its name used on TV is typically a good thing. I remember the scene from the show but had no idea what brand trash disposal was used until I read the article. I wonder if this is their sneaky way to get attention from being on TV.

The company’s In-Sink-Erator brand garbage disposal was used in a scene in the pilot episode of the new series Heroes in which one of the lead characters gets her hand mangled in the machine. (Since she has super powers, she’s able to heal herself instantly.)

Company Angered by Product Placement, Sues

I’ve always thought that they have a particularly good product name. It tells what it does and provides a unique brand name. Hopefully they’re not angry that I wrote about them on this site.

So you all know about the travesty that was Muppet Treasure Island.  And most likely you know how bad Muppets From Space was….that could have been so so cool.  Anyway, if you’re listening Brian Henson, you totally have to make this movie…it would be awesome!  I know you’ve got it in you.

Just say screw the royalties and go for the gold…it’ll be glorious!

Muppet Matrix

And for the record, Muppet is not a combination of Monster and Puppet…it just sounds cool.  Realize that and move on with your lives;)
