It seems that someone has remixed Mary Poppins to produce a scary trailer.
The footage seems to have a similair feel as The Shining. I’d like to see a mix of the two movies together.

Not likely; but it would be interesting.
We’re pretty doubtful this will happen, as Sony Pictures will probably want him back for a fourth “Spider-Man” movie, but TheOneRing.net has posted an interesting scoop that director Sam Raimi has been offered to helm The Hobbit.
I just want my Hobbit.

I watched an episode of Seinfeld the other day. It was the episode in which Jerry and George try to sell a show about nothing to the networks…the whole episode is hilarious, a parody within a parody. I was never a big fan of the show itself, since I tend to lean toward shows with things like character developement and story…which if you watch the episode you’ll laugh at…but there really was a genius to the show, and it was never more apparent than while watching that particular episode.
That said, it’s nice to see Seinfeld turning a genre on it’s head once again. Coming out November 2007 is Seinfeld’s Bee Movie, which I’m sort of looking forward to after watching the trailer.
Check it out on the Bee Movie website.
The modern movie trailer will never be the same again.

A Clockwork Orange and Reservoir Dogs were, in their own rights, seminal films depicting violence in society. Now you can see them both as you’ve never seen them before, squished together into Reservoir Droogs trailer. Of course I’m still waiting for a Straw Dogs, Reservoir Dogs, A Clockwork Orange trailer myself…but this should tide me over till someone figures that one out.

So you all know about the travesty that was Muppet Treasure Island. And most likely you know how bad Muppets From Space was….that could have been so so cool. Anyway, if you’re listening Brian Henson, you totally have to make this movie…it would be awesome! I know you’ve got it in you.
Just say screw the royalties and go for the gold…it’ll be glorious!
And for the record, Muppet is not a combination of Monster and Puppet…it just sounds cool. Realize that and move on with your lives;)

Don of La Mancha: the Quixotic tale of a misguided man, his frustrated sidekick, and a world full of windmills.
I created a one minute video as part of a viral web ad contest for wind energy. The title is “Don of La Mancha.” It’s pretty fun if I do say so myself…though I’d rather you check it out for yourself. If you like it, then vote for it; polls are open till the end of September, actually 9-28-2006.
For behind the scenes info, check out Don of La Mancha in Five Weeks over at Officialidea.

How it Should have Ended is a whole site dedicated to how movies should have ended. Quite a few of these have also been added to YouTube.
Sometimes you just have to forget how powerful the super heros are otherwise it’s just to easy.

In 1973 Pink Floyd released Dark Side of the Moon. Considered by some to be the bands greatest album, it lives today as a classic example of modern jazz, and as one of the highest selling albums of all time. So somewhere along the line someone decided that it would be fun to play the album while watching The Wizard of Oz. I’d long heard the tale of the strange connection between these two pieces for years, but I’d never bothered to set it all up…now it seems that I don’t have to. Check out The Dark Side of the Rainbow at www.sugarjar.com.
Also, read more about the album here.

Okay, I’ve been threatening to add this to the blog for months, so here it is.
I found this film, Revenge of the Red Balloon, online about five years ago. I had heard of The Red Balloon, a French film by all accounts, in a class. Being a student of filmaking and film in general, I was totally enthralled by the idea of the Red Balloon getting it’s revenge on the boys who had so violently murdered it in the first film…keep in mind that I still haven’t seen the first film; I just love irony.
The short film is great, and the story behind the making of the film is almost as cool as the film itself. Apparently the director actually went to France to film the short. Anyone who’s committed enough to buy a ticket to a foreign country just to make a film is either completely nuts, or someone I’d like to meet…maybe both.
Anyway, check it out.

This kind of reminded me of an old 70’s slasher flick. Maybe this is the pumpkin from the opening shot of Halloween? Very creepy.
