Comedy

the show with zefrank has been in my RSS feed reader for quite some time. I often watch him to unwind. I originally found him when his famous if the earth were a sandwich bit made the rounds on the web.

As Wikipedia puts it:

In 2005, Frank launched a daily video blog known simply as the show with zefrank. Each tightly-edited, three-to-five minute episode combined Daily Show-style commentary on world events with songs, observations, and occasional games or challenges for his viewers to participate in. the show quickly became the most popular portion of his site and helped to increase Frank’s visibility in the blogosphere.

Here’s a link to a recent show that I think is particularly good.

Overpopulation Concerns Force U.S. To Reopen South Dakota

I watched an episode of Seinfeld the other day.  It was the episode in which Jerry and George try to sell a show about nothing to the networks…the whole episode is hilarious, a parody within a parody.  I was never a big fan of the show itself, since I tend to lean toward shows with things like character developement and story…which if you watch the episode you’ll laugh at…but there really was a genius to the show, and it was never more apparent than while watching that particular episode.

That said, it’s nice to see Seinfeld turning a genre on it’s head once again.  Coming out November 2007 is Seinfeld’s Bee Movie, which I’m sort of looking forward to after watching the trailer.

Check it out on the Bee Movie website.

The modern movie trailer will never be the same again.

A friend of mine sent a clip to me from a sketch on the Dave Chapelle show.  I laughed out loud the entire way through…not just because it’s funny, but because it’s probably word for word true.  Living in Minnesota, you hear a lot about the comings and goings of Prince…and lets face it, I’ve heard some pretty wierd things from some pretty reliable sources.

Anyway, this Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood account of hanging out with Prince in the 80’s.

“This bores me.  Is anyone up for a game of basketball?”

We all knew Wierd Al was wierd, but this takes the cake; a song made up completely from palindromes…that is, according to dictionary.com: A word, phrase, verse, or sentence that reads the same backward or forward. For example: A man, a plan, a canal, Panama!

Check it out here. It’s very fun.

Remember that sketch, how not to be seen

If you’re a fan of Monty Python and Star Wars, you will definitely get some amusement out of this video…though on the subject of creepy things, the last thirty seconds of this sketch takes the cake.

A pretty interesting flash animation. It’s not all that easy to describe, so just watch it.

BJ Novak has an interesting view on the traditional Islamic treatment of women.  Check it out while it’s still up.

In an effort to study the effects of time lapse photography, a scientist attempts to repeat several classic experiments with unforseen results.

Everyone enjoys a good experiment now and again…this one is just hilarious.
