Cute animation featuring a crab and kung fu. What more can you ask for?

I’ve been checking out Firebrand on the tube as of late and it’s a really neat show. It features some of the best commercials I’ve seen from around the world. The main focus of any good commercial if to draw attention to your product and sell the brand, and this program does it nicely…makes me wish I’d gotten my all commercial cable station off the ground back in the days of the food network…I could have made a fortune.

Also, as I was checking out the site, I remembered this commercial from the launch of the PS2. Check it out:

I’ve been really big into concept pieces lately, so while looking through the list of Oscar contenders this year, I stumbled across a film that caught my attention: Across the Universe. The film, uses pop songs and idealogy of the seventies to create a musical story of the awakening of a group of college students to the realities of their world: war, social injustice and the like. While I have yet to see the film…and trust me I want to…the trailer in and of itself is a work of art.

This is one of the coolest ad spots I’ve seen in a long time. The CG is simply amazing and the music just makes this ad a classic. It’s one of those pieces that just sticks in your brain and won’t let go. Check it out…
