In-Sink-Erator doesn’t quite understand that having its name used on TV is typically a good thing. I remember the scene from the show but had no idea what brand trash disposal was used until I read the article. I wonder if this is their sneaky way to get attention from being on TV.
The company’s In-Sink-Erator brand garbage disposal was used in a scene in the pilot episode of the new series Heroes in which one of the lead characters gets her hand mangled in the machine. (Since she has super powers, she’s able to heal herself instantly.)
Company Angered by Product Placement, Sues
I’ve always thought that they have a particularly good product name. It tells what it does and provides a unique brand name. Hopefully they’re not angry that I wrote about them on this site.

I saw that episode and didn’t even notice the name. That’s sad. It’s a stupid lawsuit and they won’t win. It has to be publicity.

Dude, that is like my number one irrational fear, loosing a hand in the garbage disposal.
I think its because my parents instilled a deep fear of it in me when I was young. I used to use my hand to get stuff out, but now I just use tongs.

That’s not an irrational fear. I like my hands!

Yeah, I like your hands too
Sometimes I worry though, as a programmer, how much my livlihood depends on my hands. I mean, I could totally do my job without legs, but I can’t even imagine how fustrating it would be to not use my hands to type.

Yeah, I always think it would suck to go blind. Honestly that would suck all the way around. It would certainly be difficult to maintain my current, or any job for that matter…but on an artistic front, that would be particularly frustrating. If I couldn’t do art anymore, then the only alternative would be writing, and that doesn’t carry the same satisfaction for me.
As I get older I just have to be glad that I haven’t gotten much in the way of diabetic complications…unfortunatly blindness could be one of them. …but really, you never know what could happen unless it does.
