If you’ve always wanted an iPod but just didn’t want to pay for one here is your chance. Apply for an MBNA credit card using the link below and receive a free 1GB iPod Nano. This seems like a good deal if you don’t mind having a Jets logo on your iPod. For me that’s a deal breaker. Skol Viks.
Apply for card and get iPod Nano

Here are a few additional NFL football credit card deals (still couldn’t find one for the Vikings).

Ever wanted to know what the cast of Lost was up to before they became the cast of Lost. Everyone knows that Matthew Fox was on Party of Five and Dominic Monaghan was in that Lord of the Rings movie…some of you may even know that Terry O’Quinn was in Millenium with Lance Henriksen…yeah, who am I kidding, nobody saw that. Anyway, check out Before they were Lost over at Entertainment Weekly.

Everyone loves The Ten Commandments. Charleton Heston, Uhl Brenner, the burning bush, the plauge, locusts, beach blanket parties…what could be more fun then that…well…what if the plot was exactly a rip off of 10 Things I Hate about You?

I’d never played this game until today, but a friend sent it to me and its kind of addicting. For those of you that haven’t played it, it’s sort of a cross between memory and minesweeper. I haven’t looked at the official rules yet, but the gist of the game is that the pieces are locked into place. You can only pick pieces that are touching one other piece or are on the very top of the stack. Removing pieces gives you more pieces to choose from and lets you open up other areas of the board. The trick, I think, is to try to plan a few moves ahead so that you can unlock some of the tougher formations as soon as possible.

Pandas are cool. Everybody says so…so everybody must be right. Right?
Check out the Panda cam at the San Diego zoo, where you can see Bai Yun, Gao Gao, Su Lin, Mei Sheng, Hua Mei, or Shi Shi up close and personal.
If the Smithsonian is more your style, check out Mei Xiang or her cub Tei Shan at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. web cam.
Very cool! Enjoy!

Since the name Henry Phish is used as a pseudonym when I need to register for things and prefer to not use my real name I often receive junk mail addressed to Henry Phish. It’s always fun to see highly personalized mail addressed to fictional people. Below is a comic I received that is specifically altered to refer to Henry Phish.

Well, with all the stir up on ethanol, it was bound to happen at some point. Analysts are starting to say there’s an ethanol bubble building. If you remember back to the 90’s when all the dot com stocks were soaring while they in turn had no tangible product to show for all their net worth…that’s basically the same thing happening with ethenol stocks today. Companies getting into the market are using their seed money to create processing plants based on speculation, and while the future looks bright for ethanol, it is hardly a sure thing. In a paraphrase of one analysts opinion…it’s really easy to get into the industry, but once there, not everyone is going to profit.
Most people who are following this stuff have noticed that some pretty high profile people have started to make some moves into the arena. People such as Bill Gates have started to buy up such stocks as Pacific Ethanol. I for one applaud his foresight. It takes people like him to get this stuff rolling in the right direction. However, I have to say, for the every man, that seems a little risky. Whichever company or companies that come out on top will be lauded as the greats, while the others…well they’ll be hoping for a buyout if they’re lucky. Anyway, since I know that people have been reading some the articles I’ve been posting, I figured I’d just tell you to be careful with your money.
For those of you with deep pockets, mores the power. For the rest of us…ever thought about buying a nice flat screen television…I hear they’re quite popular these days.

I think that the man said it best himself in a quote from the site:

Back in highschool I had a friend that built a potato gun out of a black PVC pipe, an igniter, and a can of hairspray. You’d put the potato in the front end and it would create a seal, then you’d fill the back end with hairspray, screw the cap on, and whoola, a home-made bomb…I mean spud cannon. Keep in mind that these things are dangerous, and I in no way condone their use, except under the guidance of resposible adult supervision…we had more than our fair share of incidents, everything from burnt hair, to our back cap blowing off and narrowly missing one of our group…they can be dangerous, so if you’re so inclined to build one, please take precautions. That said, they are really cool to see in use, and it’s a great way to learn about the science of things…well combustion anyway.
For a simple example, check out this site. It’s similar to the gun we made in school…though hopefully these guys were a little bit smarter about it than we were…though by the looks of it, I wouldn’t count on it…
For those of you that think you’re beyond this stuff…well…just check out this page and dare to reconsider.
