Woot! is not just an exclamation of joy but is also a shopping site. Each day a single item is offered for sale at an unbelievably low price. The item is then offered until all available stock has been sold or the 24-hour period is up. However, I have rarely seen an item make it past midday.
As they say in their FAQ:
-
I see only one item, do you sell anything else?
No. We sell one item per day until it is sold out or until 11:59pm central time when it is replaced (see next entry for details). However, each item we sell is in stock and typically ships within 2-3 business days.
So the key is to shop often.

For those of you in Minnesota, consider that Dunken Donuts doesn’t even have a single establishment in the whole state. Now imagine, if you will, yourself as the sole proprietor of the Minnesota branch of the Dunkin Donuts franchise. Think of the warm, tasty coffee and the mouth watering donuts. Think of that catchy slogan you could proclaim to all of your friends whenever they ask you the time. Now consider all the customers. Me…my friend Justin…he’s already sent a couple of hate mails to Dunkin Donuts because of their lack of presence in the state…Jeff…and probably a couple guys I don’t know. I mean seriously…who could pass up an opportunity this good? Bet you couldn’t.
Buy a Dunkin Donuts…and tell them I sent you for ten percent off the franchise price;)

Google has used its great technical expertise to solve the age old question “What is the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything?”
Google Search - What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?
Original credit to solving the question goes to Douglas Adam in his ground-breaking book The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

If you’re planning on opening a franchise you’ll want to take a look at Entrepreneur’s franchise list. It appears that sub sandwiches are the way to go. I tend to think the prices for a foot long sandwich are outrageous.
I’d rather open a Dunkin’ Donuts.

Check out this article on DNA Origami. Apparently, a scientist has discovered how to fold long strands of DNA using short DNA staples as a binding medium. The staples can be designed by a computer program and ordered from a laboratory. Then, the strands are heated in a salt solution and come together in whatever shape you designed.

In the future, this could be used to build molecular electronics. Kind of cool to think about, something so small, about 100 nanometers across, being folded like a piece of paper.

Normally this article would not have caught my eye. However, earlier this week a co-worker was on a call and experienced a flushing sound in the background of a call. My guess is that phone calls from the bathroom are more common than anyone would believe. Check out the stat below for proof.
…nearly 4 out of 10 people think it’s okay to talk on a cell phone in the bathroom.

Fans of the Bravo tv series Project Runway will find the following picture priceless. Everyone else will have no idea what is going on. Santino has apparently seen the future.

One whole year after the Xbox 360. That’s going to be a big hurdle to overcome in sales. They had originally planned for spring of 2006. They better hope that people hold out for the full HD effect.
PS3 is compatible with a vast lineup of television sets currently out in the market, from standard-definition TV to full high-definition TV.

I came across this article a few weeks ago that sums up how I like to make decisions.
Complex decisions are best left to the unconscious mind, because it can juggle lots of facts and figures better, a study shows.
On the other hand, people should give more attention to simple decisions, such as choosing a shampoo or oven glove, if they want to be satisfied customers.
When I need to make a major decision I like to have time for my mind to provide feedback. I’ll typically wake up one morning with an answer. It’s as if I have a department of employees doing research when in reality I just needed time for my mind to make sense of it all.
Article - I think, therefore I stuff it all up
