So I’m a big fan of the TV show, but I’ve never really thought too much about the real Army counterpart.  For those of you that don’t know, or haven’t watched the show, or the movie, or have been living in a cave for the last 33 years, MASH stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital.  It was used as a base of operations to which wounded soldiers could be brought and treated.  According to this article, the last one was decommissioned in Pakistan today, 2/16/2006; the latest casualty in the war called progress. 

 Anyway, it’s an interesting read if you get the chance.
